This past weekend we were excited to travel to Maryland to celebrate Kyle’s parent’s 40th Wedding Anniversary! We kicked off the weekend by going out to a nice dinner on Friday night and then headed back to the house where family, friends and neighbors gathered for a surprise party. It was fun to hear everyone reminisce and share the type of stories that only 40 years together could bring.
The rest of the weekend was largely unplanned and brought us to some unexpected and totally new places. A favorite was BIG Cork Vineyard and Winery in Rohrersville, MD. Set atop a hill, the Tasting Room is surrounded by lush vineyards and 360° beautiful views. We treated ourselves to their 6-wine tasting at the sleek bar and checked out their indoor bistro seating.
Their menu looked wonderful so we decided to stay for an early lunch/brunch. It was an incredible day so we chose to move outside to their expansive patio so we could enjoy the blue sky and the breeze. The vibe was easygoing and every guest seemed to be having a really enjoyable time.
At Big Cork they welcome dogs, kids and, as they put it, “anyone who wants to celebrate life in a BIG way.” It was the perfect place to toast to 40 Years of Marriage, which we did happily with glasses of the Syrah Rose! I honestly can’t say enough great things about our experience. If you’re in the Maryland area, this spot deserves a field trip.
And thank you again to the staff who very kindly let me sneak to the back to get this shot of the stunning chandeliers.
