Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport

cloudy KennebunkportThis weekend a group of us was very lucky to attend the  2nd weekend of Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport for the second year in a row. Saturday was drizzly and cloudy, but with an intense day of shopping scheduled and weren’t deterred in the least. The first stop of the day was at Antiques on Nine a fantastic shop filled with eclectic finds old and new.

Antiques on Nine The store was filled with beautiful European furniture, chandeliers, Dash & Albert Rugs, high end decorative pillows, and much more. Lucky for us everything in the store was at least 20% off for the weekend and some items were discounted up to 70%. We stepped in from the rain and were met by an incredible staff and mimosas and coffee cake. We had a blast checking out every nook of the store and all walked away with purchases.

Antiques on Nine Antiques on Nine is a little outside of the center of Kennebunkport, but definitely worth the trip. If you go, give yourself at least an hour so you have time to explore the entire space.

Spaces Kennebunkport
The next stop on our trip was Spaces on the other side of town. This small shop carries punchy fabrics and pillows in every color of the rainbow. They also have candles, frames, books and other small items great for gifting. We made the trip over specifically to see their selection of The Ropes bracelets, and weren’t disappointed.

From there we headed into the center of town to have lunch and a Shipyard Prelude beer at Federal Jack’s before strolling and checking out the other shops. One of my favorites in the center is Daytrip Society. I adored their red holiday window last year and loved the blue window just as much this year. They have traditional Maine items like sea bags and a mix of other quirky offerings. We were drawn to the Pantone Christmas tree ornaments.

Compliments Kennebunkport As darkness fell, the stores gave off a cozy glow and the Christmas tree in the center of town twinkled. I feel so fortunate that I was able attend this quintessential small-town Christmas weekend for a second time and recommend it to anyone who hasn’t experienced it yet. In terms of small unique shops and holiday cheer, Kennebunkport never disappoints.
