This past week I went to my first Blog & Tweet Meet-Up at Cocoanuts Boston, a chocolate and confection shop in the North End. On a chilly and windy January evening, the storefront looked extra inviting.
We were welcomed by store owners Jen and Tara and event co-hosts, Jen Dorman of Boston Bachelorette and Kerrie Urban of Urban Foodie Finds. Bloggers mingled, sipped champagne, tasted small bites, and got the opportunity to chat with two local artisans. Rebecca Novak of Yes Chocolates, based in Brookline, offered samples of her chocolate covered brownie bites, sticky bun chocolates, and the “perfect pour” – a Guinness stout ganache in dark chocolate. Heather and Melissa Forrester were also there talking about their company, Little Bits Toffee. Their coconut flavored toffee topped my list.
The store was decked out for Valentine’s Day and beautifully merchandised. It has a boutique feel and every product they carry, in addition to tasting delicious, is visually captivating too. Some of the products are worth purchasing for the packaging alone! I especially loved the wall of chocolate bars at the entrance of the store.
It was the perfect time to pick up some Valentine’s gifts and grabbed a box of sea salt caramels as part of a present for Allie Lehman’s Valentine’s Day City Swap and a couple of goodies for myself. If you’re in the market for Valentine’s confections Cocoanuts is the place to head!
Thanks again to Jen & Kerrie of Blog and Tweet Boston for organizing this great event!
