Hi all – you may have noticed that I’ve been a bit off my blogging game recently, but luckily that’s because there are a lot of great projects in the works! (More to come on that soon).
In honor of the New Year I wanted to share two of my absolute favorite books – both of which have had a huge impact on my life. If you’re looking for a place to jumpstart your resolutions, they’re both great picks.
Smart Women Finish Rich was a gift from my Auntie Carole (love you!) back when I was in college. The author, David Bach, is a genius financial planner and breaks everything down into simple steps and action items. It’s an incredibly motivating book and by the end you feel like you’ve got a friend in your corner. I’ve read it ten times over and still find new inspiration with every read. If you’re a guy, The Automatic Millionaire is another great option by David Bach.
I stumbled onto the Beauty Detox Solution after reading a short article in the Metro two years ago. A short paragraph was all the motivation I needed to order the book. Kim Snyder, a nutritionist and holistic health coach, talks about how when humans eat the diet nature designed for us we see incredible health benefits. She lays out a transitional plan in three stages with recipes which help you achieve new levels of energy, beautiful skin and hair, and a toned body. I have to admit that upon first read some of the changes she suggests seem radical, but if you go in with an open mind there’s a lot that you can take away. I’ve applied some of her techniques and recipes in my daily life and found them to be incredibly helpful. If you like Beauty Detox there’s a follow-up book called The Beauty Detox Foods.
