This past weekend we escaped to a log cabin in Vermont. It flurried during most of our drive up and we were happy to be greeted by a cozy cabin with a cranking wood stove. We skipped some of the traditional tourist spots (like Ben & Jerry’s and the Cabot Creamery) in favor of smaller local joints. Here were some of our favorites:
- Black Cap Coffee — Stowe, VT
Started the morning with a beautifully poured chai tea. - Cork Wine Bar & Market — Waterbury, VT
Wonderful selection of wines & super knowledgeable staff. Nice place to grab a glass! - Prohibition Pig — Waterbury, VT
Kyle was drooling over the number of craft beers available. - Shelburne General Store — Shelburne, VT
A true General Store that feels like a shop right out of Harry Potter. They have every kind of candy you could imagine and delicious homemade fudge. We went with Maple. - Farmhouse Tap & Grill — Burlington, VT
Farmhouse was our choice for dinner & it didn’t disappoint. Everything is locally sourced and the Adams Farm Chicken & Biscuits was to die for. - Muddy Waters — Burlington, VT
We ended our day at Muddy Waters which offered a warm hideout from the cold. I ordered the White Hot Chocolate, which I’ll dream about for months to come.
All in all it was great to slow down for a weekend before the holidays get into full swing. What did you do this past weekend?
