Over here, we’ve been in the holiday spirit for quite some time! We were lucky enough to be a part of the “Home for the Holidays” shoot, which took place the day after Halloween. The bar cart shoot for the holiday issue of the Improper Bostonian was a the work of Kate, the blogger and hostess extraordinaire, of Domestikated Life.
Kate’s vision was a brightly colored bar cart paired with seasonal greenery and metallic accents. She called on Navya of Litte Flower Cottage for the wreaths and floral arrangement, Julie of posh + prep for hand lettered calligraphic pieces, and us to provide vintage props. We were thrilled to contribute items like the gold striped cocktail glasses, pitcher, decanters, cake stand and other small accents.
As Kate says, cake stands are a designers dream because they’re so multi-purpose and can be used in a variety of ways. For the shoot she used our gold rimmed cake plate as a drink stand. If you’re entertaining this holiday season we encourage you to incorporate vintage pieces that have been passed down through your family to add special meaning to the occasion.

Really like the pink, greenery and gold vintage ware!
Thanks Deb! It was all Kate’s vision. Love the palette she came up with.
